This is another of those short fan fics I write to keep myself busy whilst I am writing... AN EPIC! It is true, I am writing an epic, and these lovely short stories are to keep me and you busy in the inbetweeny bits between chapters. NB: whilst writing this, I am listening to the Doctor Who sound track, the Doomsday song! How weird is that?

Post series finale of series 4, if you didn't get it =)

The duplicate Doctor and Rose were still kissing as the Doctor walked back to the TARDIS, and then left with the familiar "vworp, VWORP" as it spun into the Time Vortex. Rose pulled away from her new Doctor, and stared at the empty space where the TARDIS had been. She smiled a little shyly, then said, "Let's go back to London, eh?"

"Yeah." He smiled at her and held out his hand, she took and walked back to that infamous jeep.

Rose felt terrible. The real Doctor, her Doctor, was zooming away into the Time Vortex and she was stuck with this... fake. The word sprung into her head before she could stop herself. Shaking the thought from her mind, she put on a smile. If this form of the Doctor was happy, then she would be happy.

The duplicate Doctor felt terrible. He was a genetic replica of the Doctor and could do all the things he could do, no problem. But he didn't feel all the things he did, and he didn't love her as he had done. He never would. Mentally shaking himself, he slapped on his special smile. If Rose was happy, he would be happy.

They strode closer to the jeep, hand in hand, starting the lie that was 'them'.
