Valentine Surprise
Max was doing what he usually did when there were no activities going on at Camp Campbell; sitting under a tree and relaxing under the shade. He was planning on taking a nap, but some pokes to the shoulder by his green haired friend derailed those plans pretty quickly.
"Nikki, what the hell are you doing?" Max asked, annoyed that his time alone had been ruined, even if it was interrupted by someone he actually liked.
"Hey Max, I have a question for you; how do you feel about Valentine's Day?" Nikki asked, while shuffling her feet with her hands behind her back. Max did not notice her odd behavior and instead focused on the question he was just asked.
"I don't like Valentine's Day. I think it's stupid," Max answered in a very non caring way. Before he could go back to laying down, a pink piece of cardboard in the shape of a heart was shoved into his face.
"Well…then you don't care that I want you to be my Valentine?" Nikki said with a smirk. Max looked at Nikki with surprise, and then looked at the pink heart, which just had 'Would you by my Valentine?' scribbled on it in black pen.
"Uhhh…I…well…I…um…" Max stuttered, trying to find the right words to say.
"Happy Valentine's Day Max," Nikki said with a smile on her face.
"Nikki, it's the middle of July. It's nowhere near Valentine's Day," Max responded. Nikki responded to his response with a kiss on the cheek, making Max's entire face erupt into a blush.
"H…happy Valentine's Day…Nikki," Max mumbled with his head turned away to prevent Nikki from seeing his blush. Nikki smiled at him, and rested her head on his shoulder. Max looked at her for a second, before sighing and went back to relaxing under the tree with Nikki by his side.
