Lately I've been honing my spying skills by stalking the members of my family. Ever since Edwin got a girlfriend, he doesn't have time to do stakeouts with me. The girl must be blind, I suspect, although I've never met her. She doesn't go to our school.

Marti would be a bore to follow, and so would mom and George so I decided to follow Casey, and subsequently Derek seeing as he kept hanging around her. I was certainly suspicious of that, even though they still fought like cats and dogs wherever they were. But what can I say? Opposites attract.

It started at first when I was listening to Casey's door and I heard crying. There was also gentle "shhh"s. There were many things that could make Casey cry, but who was comforting her? It didn't take a genius to figure that one out. Derek was not in his room.

I listened to the door, (hey, I've got to work on my skills somehow). All I could hear was the comforting hushes of Derek and the muffled sobs of Casey. The world is ending. Derek cannot stand Casey or tears, but he's helping her?

And why didn't Casey come to me? As much as I enjoy a break from the drama, why Derek? This was totally out of character. Was the world going to burn up? Is that why Casey is crying? No, that wasn't right.

I didn't stick around. It just didn't feel right spying on this moment. I heard Derek say, "it needed to be done," before I retreated to my bedroom.

It wasn't until the phone rang the next morning that I knew what was going on. Apparently, Casey accidentally left her medical card at Planned Parenthood.
