"What do you want me to say? I love you and I'm not ashamed of that. The rest...reapers, backstabbing politicians, Tim the village idiot, two faced assholes...it's all just noise right now. I can't believe you're still angry over what happened."
"Well, I might reconsider if you could explain to me why I shouldn't be furious over your latest attempt at suicide via idiotic plan? And where in the fuck did you get the idea that I was anything but proud of our relationship?"
"Dammit Garrus, for the hundredth time, I wasn't trying to get myself killed! If I hadn't acted when I did, a lot of people could have ended up hurt and it would have been my fault," a loud sigh echoed through the newly redecorated kitchen, "And you're the one who couldn't get away fast enough when the C-Sec officer caught us kissing tonight, not me. How am I supposed to feel about that?"
"I had no idea she was going to proposition you Shepard. I moved because I thought she was going to grill you some more on what went down with Brooks and your clone. Nothing more, nothing less. Her appearance also just happened to remind me that I was still upset with you over the stupid stunt you pulled. We've been through too damn much for me to lose you now," he opened his arms and pulled his lover into a short kiss before adding, "But I have to ask, aren't you even a little concerned that the entire galaxy knows about us now? The xenophobes, the religious crazies, the cult of Shepardites desperate to make squalling little babies with-"
"The only people whose opinions matter are standing right here Garrus, in this room. Hell, if I could, I'd shout from the Presidium every day how much I love you."
"I love you too," the turians face briefly lit up with a bright smile before his stern visage returned, "Now, for the sake of my sanity, could you please warn me next time you, Wrex, and Grunt decide you want to go out on the town for a night of drinking? I don't think even the first human Spectre has enough credits to cover the damages of a second spontaneous rave sprouting up on the Presidium or the almost riot Grunt caused when he and his squad buddies started climbing those statues and setting off fireworks."
"At least they weren't charged over stealing those skycars?" his lover's smile was too broad to be completely innocent.
Garrus answered with one last kiss, then stepped out of their shared embrace, "Speaking of your adopted offspring, he is arguing with the shower again and I am too tired to deal with it after sorting everything else out tonight. Good luck with that honey, I will see you two in the morning."
"So much for always having my six," John moodily grumbled, eyes momentarily trailing after his lover, then started up the stairs to calm the inebriated young krogan.
