Warehouse 13
Any ship your heart so desires
Inspired by the song 'Long Distance Lullaby' by Martina McBride

'One more hotel room
One more night away from you
One more phone call
To say I'll be home soon'

My fingers leave smudges on the Farnsworth screen as I trace where your image had just been.

One more night. That's it. One more night in a cold hotel room before I can crawl into bed with you. The artifact sits snagged and bagged on the hotel dresser and tomorrow cannot come soon enough.

With a groan, I close the Farnsworth and lay back on the bed. It has been nearly a month since we last saw each other, a large flux of pings scattering everyone, and I miss you.

Your voice without the static of the Farnsworth.

Your smile as I hold you in my arms.

Your hair in my fingers.

Kissing you goodnight.

I roll over and set the Farnsworth on the other pillow. It is hardly a replacement but it is the closest thing I have to you.

As I drift to sleep, I know I will dream of you.

Of your laugh. Of your hand in mine. Of the way your skin glows in the morning sun.

I fall asleep with a smile.

Tomorrow is almost here.
