She was annoying. Probably the most annoying anti-fairy he'd ever met. Her IQ was a single digit and her appearance was less than appealing. He was thrown into this torturous fate by his opposite falling in love her opposite. She was his destiny and there was nothing he could do about it.

He watched as she sat across from him, eating her dinner with her feet. The way she smacked her lips between each bite was enough to drive anyone to the brink of insanity. He watched as she clumsily bumped the table every time she shifted in her seat, knocking over the salt shaker. The grotesque way she gulped her drink made him cringe.

At night, he felt her tossing around in the bed, wrapping herself up in the single blanket they shared, not leaving enough for him. The way she snored drove him to sleeping on the couch.

Her absurd questions and constant rambling brought the most detesting headaches and annoyance. His disdained way of humoring her unintelligent babbling went over her head.

He sighed in contentment when he had a moment alone. The silence was eerily relaxing. He leaned his head back on the chair in his study, absentmindedly twisting his black wedding band around his finger. He looked down at the object he often found himself playing with, and a faint smile played on his lips.

She was annoying. The complete opposite of him. The most illiterate and unintelligent being he knew. The most grotesque and mundane personality a being could inherit.

Yet, he loved her. He loved her with every dark, twisted corner of his heart.
