So, I'm completely and utterly in love with Kyle/Declan. Seriously, those boys want each other so very badly, and the producers should not deny them of their wants!
BUT, they probably will. So, I'm writing this!
By the way, I, for the life of me, cannot remember what that place that Josh got a job at is called. Was it the Barr? I don't know why I am thinking that, but that's what it's going to be until someone tells me the correct name. Enjoy, and please reply!
…
"I broke up with Lori."
Kyle looked up from his strawberry smoothie as his friend dropped himself into the seat beside him.
"I know." Kyle replied, "Lori came home crying, so I asked her what was wrong. First she screamed at me to leave her alone, and then she finally told me"
Declan groaned and put his face in his hands, "I wasn't trying to make her cry, man." Kyle shrugged and pushed his smoothie towards Declan, who gladly accepted it. "I just…I can't do it anymore. And she wants to know why, but I don't think that I even know."
"I think she'll be okay, if that helps." Kyle said, "She told Hillary that she was fine."
Declan sighed, "Girls lie, Kyle. That's the whole point. You don't know what they're thinking, but they expect you to just…know!"
Kyle crinkled his eyebrows, "Then why don't they just tell the truth?"
Laughing slightly, Declan pushed the smoothie back to Kyle. "Because then they wouldn't be girls. It's just what they do."
Kyle nodded his head slowly like he was trying to comprehend. "So if they didn't lie, they wouldn't be girls?"
"Exactly." Declan laughed.
Kyle thought for a moment, "So Lori lied to you? That's why you broke up with her?"
"Oh," Declan said, "She's lied to me plenty of times. But that's not why…I told you; I just can't do it anymore. Y'know, with her. I don't know why."
"She told Hillary that she's going to start being a virgin." Kyle said, causing Declan to choke on the smoothie he had just taken a drink of.
"She said what?"
"She told Hillary, 'I'm going to pretend he never happened. From here on out, I'm going to be a virgin. No more guys for me.'" Kyle said, "They were on the phone for four hours."
Declan laughed again, "Well, maybe lesbianism will treat her better." When Kyle gave him a confused look, he threw his hands in the air. "Lesbians, Kyle. When girls like girls?"
"Like Lori and Hillary?" Kyle asked.
"No, not just friendship." Declan said, "They like each other. When girls like other girls as friends, they're just friends. But when they like each other more than that, they're—Kyle, I can't believe I have to tell you this. What normal guy doesn't know what lesbians are?" He laughed, "Maybe Josh is right with his alien theory. You guys don't have lesbians in outer space?"
Kyle just gave him a look. "So not only can boys like girls and girls like boys, but girls can like girls too?"
"And guys can like guys." Declan grinned, standing up. "But, I gotta' head out. See you later, man."
"Bye." Kyle waved distractedly. Obviously, he still had a lot to learn.
