A/N~ Gah this has been playing on my mind for a while now. It's not the full Yami no Matsuei story I'm planning. It's only a drabble.
Disclaimer~ I do not own Yami no Matsuei. IF I DID I WOULDN'T OF BROKEN MY WRIST! D no dig at you lovely Matushita Yoko. I'm just a fangirl waiting for that next bit…
A blond haired boy stood staring out at the deep indigo waters. His bright green eyes surveying the ocean. He had been returning to this same place for months on end. Waiting, always waiting for his friend to return.
"Hisoka, face it he's gone and he isn't coming back." A harsh voice sounded from behind him.
"He said he'd come back. He promised he wouldn't leave me here. Tatsumi, I KNOW YOU MISS HIM TOO!" Hisoka's rage was uncommon but violent when unleashed. This wasn't merely rage, it was also desperation and a strange hint of longing. Behind him a brown haired man with glittering blue eyes and glasses winced.
"Come now Tatsumi no need to be so harsh. Hisoka's been through hell and back waiting, and this news will just top it all off." Another blond this one with glasses and long hair stepped onto the balcony. Generally Watari was light hearted and bouncy. An annoying bundle of happy – and somewhat sleazy emotions that irritated and caught Hisoka's curiosity, all at the same time – but without Tsuzuki no-one had really joked for weeks.
Hisoka turned around, his green eyes locked with Watari's amber ones. "What news?" He asked viciously lunging over and grabbing Watari's arm. The older blond pulled himself free before turning back to Hisoka, "The Chief has decided to call you back, he has another partner lined up for you, he's given up hope of Tsuzuki's return."
Something inside Hisoka died.
"NO! I WON'T LEAVE HERE! I WON'T GET ANOTHER PARTNER! HE'S COMING BACK!" the poor boy was almost in tears.
"This is a strange matter, and you being out here is costing us money. So I'm going to ask what's been on all of our minds. Why do you care so much? Exactly what is your relationship with Tsuzuki?" Tatsumi's voice was still harsh and he shut his eyes to block out the image of the desperate Shinigami.
Hisoka turned slowly. His small frame trembling with fury, "You have no right to ask that Tatsumi. You gave up that right when you cancelled your partnership with Tsuzuki. I will not go back, screw your money. I'm staying here. He WILL come back. That bastard doctor isn't enough to hold Tsuzuki."
Watari shook his head and walked swiftly to Hisoka's side, "We know this is hard, he took you in, he cared. He was the first to do so. However, you need to stop and think–" he broke off as a man stepped into the doorway. His eyes were shadowed with grief and he stared past them all into the ocean.
Tatsumi started as the man entered. "Chief! What's wrong?!" The older man never moved his gaze from the glittering water. "Tsuzuki Asato is dead. Muraki finally succeeded in killing him."
A low scream came from the small blond's throat.
He ran.
Tears slipped from his eyes and he didn't bother to brush them away. He wasn't coming back now. His last hope was gone. Tsuzuki was dead, what more was there?
Only revenge.
Revenge for Tsuzuki.
Revenge for his own original life.
Behind him, no-one dared to stop him.
A/N~ Midnight. Never leave up that long again. Especially not with a computer. Drew fell asleep and I wrote this…yee gods…
