Sasuke stared…that's right. He just stared. At what you ask? Well at the stack of papers in his hands. His eyes practically bugged out upon seeing the title. His hands trembled and a tear slid down the young man's cheek. A tear! Have any of you ever seen Sasuke Uchiha cry?

I think not. He shook his head violently, as if it would make the papers disappear. As if it would make his life go back to normal. The way it should be. But to no avail.

She left him. She left him there wallowing in self pity and then she sent divorce papers. A rage suddenly overtook the young man. A kind of frenzy swept over him. He let out a loud, angry yell throwing all his hatred behind it. His eyes were bloodshot. Whether from the tears or the fury, it was hard to tell.

Sasuke overturned the glass table in front of him sending glass shards in every direction. He ripped the pictures off the wall and they joined the glass.

And he went on… Destroying in pure rage and fury. And he went on…Ripping things apart…And he went on…Screaming as loud as he could…And he went on…his heart breaking more and more every second.

And finally he stopped and slid down to the floor, sobbing.

And that was show Itachi found him an hour later. Surrounded in the destruction and chaos of his fit of rage. His brother sitting amidst it all, arms wrapped around his knees and sobbing into his arms.

That sent Itachi into a wave of panic. Sasuke never cried. Not even when their parents died. And now…

Itachi didn't hesitate. He immediately scooped up his brother in his arms and held him awkwardly. Itachi rocked Sasuke back and forth, rubbing soothing circles on his back murmering comforting words in his ear. Sasuke just clutched Itachi's shirt in a balled up fist, and cried. Eventually, the sobbing died down to an occasional hiccup. Itachi was wondering what happened but he knew not to push it. And so they sat there in silence, listening to each others; breathing.

Sasuke looked up and gave his brother a sad tired smile. Itachi just looked down at him solicitously. Sasuke got up and walked over to a corner of the room and bent down to pick up a stack of papers. He brought it back and handed it to Itachi. Itachi looked at the papers and read the title… They were divorce papers!

His eyes widened in astonishment. This couldn't be true! His brother and his sister-in-law loved each other very much. They eloped! What could be more romantic than that?! She wouldn't want a divorce! No, it was probably set up. Itachi opened his mouth to voice his opinion, but Sasuke held up a hand, signaling him to stop. He pointed to the bottom of the paper. Itachi's eyes followed his brother's finger.

And there it was. Sakura's signature!

"I thought she loved me…" Sasuke's voice sounded raspy and meek after all that crying. "I loved her." Itachi's heart broke even more at seeing his brother's condition.

"She did…She just…I don't know! Maybe it a prank. She'll come walking in here in a few minutes laughing at you!" Itachi said. But he knew it wasn't true. They both did.

They sat there, leaning against one another staring at the door wishing it was true. Then sasuke let out a small, quiet laugh. Itachi;s head snapped up and he looked at his brother in alarm. "Wow what are the odds?" He mused quietly.

"What are you talking about?"

"My favorite poem…Sakura always said it was a jinx…I guess it was true."

"Poem?"

"Yeah…You wanna hear it?" Itachi nodded.

"You left me, sweet, two legacies,-

A legacy of love

A heavenly father would content,

Had he the offer of;

You left me boundaries of pain

Capacious as the sea,

Between eternity and time,

Your consciousness and me.

By Emily Dickinson"
