King Peter greeted his friend. "Good afternoon, Tumnus. How are you this fine day?"

The faun looked startled. "Your Majesty. I'm doing well. To what do I owe this visit?"

"Well, I talked with Lucy last night, and from I understand, you both care very deeply for one another."

Tumnus cleared his throat and looked to the ground. "Yes, Sire," was all he had to say for himself.

"Relax," Peter laughed and placed his hand on the faun's bare shoulder. "Tumnus, the truth of the matter is, Susan, Edmund, and I don't trust Lucy's heart to anyone in Narnia more than you. It gives me great pleasure to inform you that you have my permission and full approval to take Lucy's hand in marriage."

The faun lifted his eyes and grinned. "Thank you, Sire. Lucy will not go uncared for, I can assure you."

Peter returned the smile to his youngest sister's beau. "I have no doubt of that. Welcome to the family, Tumnus, and may you and Lucy have many happy years full of memories together."

King and faun walked off together, each in the company of a good friend, and enjoying the time spent in newly found brotherly love.
