title: Remember This
rating: G

--Lily found it lying on her desk one day in seventh year, her name written impersonally in capital letters.--

Evans,

What is today but yesterday's tomorrow? What is today but tomorrow's yesterday? No matter, no matter; I loved you then and I love you now and I'll love you for always, whether it be next year or yesteryear or on the day I die.

Moment to moment we live, and grow, and love. Some loves die, some persevere, and others lie lurking in the backs of our minds—waiting to be kindled. Love is patient, Evans, and so am I.

I will wait for you, my Lily. I'll wait for you tomorrow, and tomorrow's tomorrow and tomorrow's tomorrow's tomorrow; and no matter how long you make me wait or how old we get, my love will be there. I know what I want, but more than that, I know what I will want.

Even if we die and my love remains unrequited, know that I know you and remember you and that I love you.

For always.

James
