A/N: I have been thinking, and I realized I really love Minerva McGonagall. Like, desperately. She's amazing. (Yep, I just decided this, randomly.) So I'm going to write a character sketch? drabble? about her. So…here it is!
Words: 168. Yeah. Very drabble-y.
Disclaimer: I don't own!
Dedication: For Jess.91, who is part of the reason that I'm obsessed with Minnie right now…Yeah, thanks for the 10 list on her! LOL.
She looks around in wonder.
She's actually made it.
(She never believed she really could, though her mother told her to go for it!)
She's standing in front of Albus Dumbledore—the Albus Dumbledore, the one who became Headmaster when she was at school—smiles warmly.
She is swept away in the moment, in the excitement, in the joy, in the exuberance.
She's Minnie, the quiet, studious young Gryffindor who never ever bent the rules. And now, she's here to enforce them. More than just a prefect, Head Girl, a 'Hogwarts alumni'—she's a professor.
Professor McGonagall, she thinks, and she lets out a dry laugh.
She'll always be just Minnie.
The same girl who hid from the Hat when "McGonagall, Minerva" was called. The same Minnie who was laughed at when she was put in Gryffindor. The same Minnie who fought for her peers' respect, and earned it.
The same Minnie who will persevere through everything.
Albus spreads his arms wide and smiles. "Welcome."
She'll always be just Minnie, but now--
She is home.
