The Porcelain Town

Summary: AU! What if Nicholas and Danny were brothers... and Nicholas grew up in Sandford... would he be oblivious to the strange going on's of the town, or will he be able to see in between the cracks?

Rated T at the moment, may go up later depending..

A/N: Hey guys, this idea came to me after watching hot fuzz who knows how many times. Just so you all know, I'm gonna say that Irene (Danny's mum) died when the boys were five and seven, I don't think it was mentioned in the film so... * Shrugs * … enjoy!

One more thing, Danny is 17 and Nicholas 15.

Prologue: Nicholas Angel Butterman

Nicholas Angel Butterman sat on his window seat with his head resting on the glass, watching as the rain drops slid slowly down the glass plane.

Letting out a soft sigh his eyes trailed down to the garden below, or more specifically to where his brother and a few of his friends were playing a game of football.

Blonde hair fell in front of his eyes as he bowed his head slightly, he couldn't help the jealousy he felt for his brother being able to go out and act like a normal teenager.

He, unfortunately, had a rare gene disease that he had inherited from his mother.

According to his father, his mother also had the disease however it didn't effect her as badly as it did him, it seemed his brother Danny was luckily enough to have not inherited it.

Of course he wouldn't want his brother to suffer the way he did, but that didn't stop him from feeling jealous of his brother or stop the feeling of self-pity that he seemed to always have.

"Knock knock."

Looking over at his door, he gave a small smile as his father came into the room holding a tray with a cheese and ham toasted sandwich and a large glass of milk on top.

"How are you feeling today Nicky?" His father asked whilst giving him a look over.

"Fine." He turned to look back out the window.

"Nicholas..." He couldn't help but feel slightly guilty at his short and bitter reply when he heard the tone of his fathers voice.

Sighing he turned back to look at his father and tried to give him a small smile, "I'm fine dad, honest."

The older man studied him for a moment before walking up to him, placing the tray on his desk before going over and placing the back of his hand on the boy's forehead.

"Hmm, you're a bit warm... have your meal and I'll be back up in a bit to give you your medication."

His father said smiling, he then ruffled his hair affectionately and left the room.

As the door closed behind his father, Nicholas got up and stretched and walked over to his desk and began eating his sandwich. The sounds of cheering drew his gaze back up to the window.

Walking over he looked out the window to see some of his brothers friends groaning and laughing at their defeat and the other lot all huddled together laughing and jumping up and down in victory.

Once again he felt that familiar spark of jealousy flare, he moved to pull the curtains closed; as he was doing so he missed somewhat sad hazzle eye's that were watching from the garden below.
