Okay, I haven't been writing UtD in forever... And quite frankly, I'm not sure whether the UtD fandom is alive anymore... Anyway... For those of you who might read this... ENjoy!

Barbie fought against gravity as he climbed higher up the tree. Joe and him had gone on a hunting trip together, enjoying their newfound freedom after the dome came down. But of course the Barbra luck found them, and their compass got broken, and their map flew away… And now he couldn't find Joe… He cussed as the branch he had been reaching for broke, thank God he always tested the limbs a bit before he trusted them…

"JOE!" he called out, no one answered. "McAlister!"
Nothing.

He climbed higher, hopeful of seeing the familiar red jacket Joe had been wearing. One branch at the time, higher and higher.

"McAlis…" his call was cut short when the branch he stood on collapsed, causing him to have one of those mini heart attacks. His heart was racing, as he locked his legs around the main branch he was climbing. He was thankful for the strength in his arms. If he hadn't been strong enough to hold on, he would have fallen more than 30 feet.

"JOE!" he called out again, still no answer. He prepared himself to yell from the top of his lungs once again. "JO…"

Then it happened. The branch he now had his legs around, the one that supported the two other branches he was climbing, broke. He smacked into possibly all the branches on his way down. After the third one it really started to hurt once he hit them.

He saw the ground coming closer, there was nothing he could do. Nothing he could do to stop it…

He crashed into the ground, hard. It took his breath away, and after a second or so the pain came.

UtDUtDUtD

Joe woke to a loud crack and then a boom. He had gone fishing, and apparently fallen asleep. He looked around for the source of the noise, but couldn't find it. A couple of seconds followed in silence, before he heard something which sounded like someone crying.

More alert at once, he got up and headed for their camp. The first thing he saw when he got there was the branch. Then he saw Barbie.

The soft whimpering told him all he really needed to know, but he still had to ask.

"Heeey… Barbie…" he moved in slowly, "Are you hurt?"

A heavy sob answered him, as Barbie nodded.

"Can you tell me where?" he didn't look forward to the answer. He feared the worst.

Barbie nodded again, but stayed silent.

"Where?" Joe asked once more.

"Left arm, and my legs…"

Joe nodded, he had predicted that Barbie's left arm would hurt. It was after all trapped underneath the big branch.

"Which leg?"

"Both. I said legS…" Barbie answered with a grimace.

"Oh crap…"

Barbie nodded a fraction.

"How bad do you think it is?" Barbie wondered after a while. His sobbing had died down to a bare minimum.

Joe shrugged as he checked Barbie's legs. They were broken, that was for sure. Especially the right one, the little piece of tibia pointing out wasn't the only telltale sign…

"Dunno…" he answered untruthfully. "Might be sprains, might be fractures… Don't think you should move too much…"

Barbie nodded

"And the arm?"

"Haven't looked at it yet. Have to get it free first…"

"Right…"

Well, I hope you enjoyed. Have a nice day.
