Chapter 1

OMG!!! I cannot believe this! I am finally turning thirteen this summer!!! Chillaxxx…okay, now I am totally kidding myself. Turning thirteen is so nothing to chill about. Thirteen is the crucial age where you'll face cliques, backstabbers, pressure, stress etc.

Well, this is my last summer as a mere 12 year old that has no worries at all. I am finally stepping into reality, where people aren't so nice anymore, and where fictional characters such as vampires and ghosts are no longer your greatest fears. This fact totally excited me.

In elementary school, I was a really ordinary girl-next-door kind of person. We didn't have cliques then. We didn't even know the meaning of cliques. We all hung out together. I mean as in like girls with girls, boys with boys. Girls and boys were two separate worlds. Girls had mostly hit puberty and were more matured than the guys who just got into trouble all the time.

I used to hate ghosts and vampires and I loved the color pink and wore mostly pink clothes. I loved beads, sequins, glitter and shiny things and I absolutely hated make-up and cosmetics because I thought they got in the way of studying and doing things. My hair was middle-parted and wore glasses. I didn't have a fringe and my hair was unruly and out of place at most times. Nobody would freak out then.

It all changed when I set foot in Junior High. It was my first day. All the kids I knew from elementary school were mostly transferred to other schools. Only few were sent to my school. It was a damp morning. It rained heavily last night and the rain just stopped an hour ago. I woke up really early in the morning because I was so excited about school. I woke dad up from his deep sleep and he snorted at me for some reason then he slowly lifted himself, sat on the bed and said, "Hey Amey, you ready?"

I smiled and nodded of course. Although secretly I though it was kind of lame that he asked me that because I was already dressed up I my oh-so-cute uniform with my hair tied up neatly (as in with all my hair combed to the back in a ponytail). We had breakfast together, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with milk, and left for school.
