"Potter."
There was silence.
"Potter."
More silence.
"Hey, Potter!"
"What, Malfoy?!"
"...This is all your fault."
"Malfoy, if you say another word, I swear to Merlin..."
Silence.
"Hey, there's a light."
Suddenly, there was light and Harry could see their surroundings. It was a small cave, which he had already surmised from the stone floor, echoing drip of water, and cold, humid air. He could just see Draco Malfoy on the other end of the cave, bound to the floor by chains, exactly the same as Harry was. Except Draco had dirt in his hair and seemed far less calm than normal, seeing as they had both been knocked out during Auror practice and were now chained by manacles to the floor of a dungeon.
The light came from a lantern that was just within Malfoy's reach, which indicated that they were supposed to see their surroundings. Why, Harry had no idea.
"So..." Malfoy started, seeming perfectly relaxed despite the situation. They were both training Aurors, and their only interaction thus far had been to fight and insult one another. Harry still couldn't stand the prick, and Malfoy just seemed to enjoy getting under his skin.
"You could think of something useful, like a way to get out, instead of making idle chit-chat." Harry informed him with some annoyance, thoroughly displeased with the situation at hand.
"Unless you're some Merlin at wandless magic, I don't think there's anything we can do." Draco said dryly, crossing his legs and examining his nails critically, picking the dirt out from under them with distaste. "Though, you can apparently do everything else, so I wouldn't be surprised if you could just magic us out here. Have at it, Oh-Great-One."
"Being a prat won't help." Harry told the blonde harshly, glaring at him and scanning their surroundings for any hint of a sign or a clue. Then he saw it. He almost laughed. Harry shook his head and leaned back against the wall, his black hair becoming even messier with the action, grime from the stone matting the unruly locks.
Draco examined him critically, no doubt wondering for the sudden change in his attitude. "What is it, Potter? What did you see?"
"Oh, nothing. Just our future."
"Which is...?" Draco drew the words out to a ridiculous extent, clearly waiting for a response.
"Don't worry. We'll be fine. It's all part of the plan."
"That isn't comforting in the least." Malfoy grumbled.
"Do you trust me?" Harry asked suddenly, green eyes meeting grey in the dim light.
Malfoy didn't say anything at first, watching Harry intently, his features unreadable. "Always."
