"That's not why I asked you to lunch," Dennis said, trying to fix the misunderstanding — his intentions for that meeting didn't in fact involve his job on 'Heaven On Earth' and the last thing he wanted was Tom getting the wrong idea out of it. He did like Tom and he wanted to, maybe, become something other than just friends or whatever their relationship's status was at that moment. But work was not something he wanted their conversation to be entirely (or at all) about.

"It's not?" He watched Tom's facial expression change and his eyes fill with curiousity, which was his cue to go on with his explaination.

"No! Actually, I was... I was asking you on a date." He lifted his gaze to meet Tom's and tried to keep a charming look as they maintained eye contact for a moment.

Tom's blue eyes widened slightly at the confession and he felt sort of dumb for not noticing the other guy's more amorous intentions. He pressed his lips together, the way he always tended to, and interwined his own fingers together before he rested his chin onto his now-connected hands.

"A date?" He repeated and let his gaze remain on Dennis' (certainly attractive) facial features in amusement. He had to admit, the guy was sort of his type — young, hot, artistic and kind. Definitely someone he would enjoy to get to know better.

"Yes," He replied, feeling such a relief as Tom showed no sign of disgust or negativism. "I was feeling kind of shy about it, but Ivy — y'know, she told me to go for it. And I thought why not!" He continued with a wide grin.

The composer tilted his head gently to the side, understanding, and let a smile form on his face, his fingers still laced together beneath his chin. "Why, I cannot deny, you're pretty adorable to ask me out," He commented, sweetly, in complete honesty. "I'm sorry I forgot your name, the other day."

"Oh," Was Dennis' nearly-instant response to the memory of that moment of when, before going on stage to perform on his 'first big show', Tom had forgotten about his name. He shook his head and waved it off politely. "It's fine — don't worry about tha-"

He was about to finish his sentence when he saw Tom lean in slightly in his direction, noticing the corner of a smirk forming. "I promise that won't happen again." The taller man whispered, in a rather flirtacious tone, and then returned to his original position on his seat.

Those words made Dennis grin himself, his mind racing with thoughts and reasons as to why that was. All of them were kind of (very) hot, which made him a bit eager to know for sure.

"Hey, would you like to come to my place, after we're done with lunch?" It was probably too early for that, however, he was pretty anxious to find out why his name would never be forgotten again.

Tom raised his eyebrows in slight — well, fake — surprise and took his menu back in both hands, still smirking softly. "I would love to," He replied, right before turning his gaze and attention back towards the menu.

Dennis chuckled at Tom's way to act 'casual' and had a last glance of his smirking lips before turning to his own menu.

He really had a lot to expect from this date...
