Prologue
~Uh, uh, some deep shit, uh, uh~
She couldn't take it anymore.
She needed to get out of there ASAP!
Why couldn't they understand?
The times aren't what they used to be.
It's not easy to get a job as it used to be when they were her age.
Things needed to change and the first change she was going to make was, she was going to leave.
Denise had always wanted to go to Louisiana.
The little town of Bon Temps to be exact.
Denise liked the sound of a small town like that.
Everyone knows everyone and you don't have to lock your doors up at night because everyone was friendly.
The second change she would make would be to make some bodily improvements.
She knew she wasn't exactly BAUTIFUL, but she was pretty when she smiled, which was very rarely recently.
Hopefully where she was planning to move will have at least one job opening.
She didn't really care what kind of job she had just as long as she could earn money and have a place to live.
Making her final preparations to leave, Denise proceeded to pack up her belongings and left the house.
There were no arguments because her family was out and she left while they were gone.
Denise turned back one last time so the house that had so many good, and bad memories, said goodbye in her head to her grandparents and walked down the driveway… never to return.
~Momma please stop cryin', I can't stand the sound~
When Denise's family returned later that night, they called out for her.
They knew they had forgotten her 20th birthday, but they really wanted to make it up to her.
Even though it was 11:30 at night, on a cold Monday on the last of February.
They had forgotten her birthday.
When she didn't come down when they had called, they went to find her.
They looked everywhere for her, but she was nowhere to be found.
Then, folded up into a little square under her pillow, was a note from her addressed to them all.
It read…
Dear everyone,
DON'T COME TO FIND ME!
I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!
LEAVE ME ALONE AND DON'T TRY TO CONTACT ME!
I love you all, but I just cannot deal with all of it.
-Denise M. Flora
They stood in silence for a while after reading what was left of her.
They may not have shown it, but they did love her.
They went against her wishes and tried to find her, but it was no use.
Denise Michelle Fryberger didn't exist anymore…
~Your pain is painful and it's tearing me down~
