When the Fallen Fall

I watched him fall
I've seen soldiers fall before
It's always the same
Their strength suddenly deserts them
But he was innocent and inexperienced
Young and foolishly valiant
Too young... too foolish
These familiar thoughts raced through my mind
As I watched his motionless body fall

My little boy
My darling son
My sole light in the eternal darkness
Torn from my desperate grasp
Departing severely from my life
I plead that you all leave me now
With misery as my only companion
That I may grieve alone for him
For my poor, lost, little boy

I understand and yet I'm confused
He rode out seeking peace
Only to return with death at his door
Everything demands a price
Sacrifices both willing and not
A lesson well taught by a cousin I scarcely knew
But whether he had died out in the battlefield
With glory that wouldn't have comforted us
Or dies here, surrounded by his mourning family
None are permitted
Nobody is allowed
To accompany him
Into the unconquerable void
That will eventually consume us all
So now I understand…
And yet
I remain confused
I think I always will be...

A/N: I'm not exactly sure who this is about... again... oops? Anyways, I do believe it could apply to just about anyone who's ever died in battle, including females. (just change everything to masculine to feminine okay?) I guess it kinda means Harry, (though his Mum's already gone...) but it could be like, Ron or one of his brothers, (though, if it was one of them, their Mum wouldn't have said "My sole light in the eternal darkness" ...) or Neville, (who's Mum is in St. Mungo's in the Insanity Ward...) or anyone else really! Like I said, it could apply to just about anyone. Including people not in the Potterverse, but I like it better when its here instead of in like, somewhere else... 'cause I like it here, alright? Oh, and the second part was supposed to be from a mother's point of view, which is why I put "Mum" though I guess it works with fathers or any other guardian-type person...

All (well, I think all) previous comments about everything I might have already said apply here too... too lazy and I forgot to say them, so go find them in my other fics (is this considered a fic?) and while you're there, read them! Or not... whatever... I'm sure you're too lazy to. Review if you want, 'tis appreciated... "'tis" tee-hee... though I won't say R&R 'cause I'm assuming you already read the fic/poem if you're reading this... ew, I'm so bad at poetry, why'd I even write this? Oops, I'm so not going to say! Lol! I can't write stories either... lol... and whenever I write something, I put so many adjectives and adverbs in it, so I run out of synonyms... lol... ew, someone (not a teacher!) told me that "writing doesn't just mean sticking a whole lot of adjectives into it" (or something to that effect) and they're right, but I'm okay with this, and I might get in trouble in the future, but I'm okay for now... plus, MY English teacher doesn't seem to hate it... and she's a professional... wow, this is long... 'k, I's is got's to go's now! Buy-buys! (I like money, though I actually hate shopping...)
