the next generation does not belong to me - oh but how I wish it did (and how I act like they do, regardless)

Basically, my take on the next generation it that they're going to have struggles completely different from their parents; Voldemort might be dead and gone and the world saved, but they're going to have to live with the expectations of the world because of who their parents are.

(And I realized I left out Lucy and Molly Weasley - Percy's kids - and Teddy Lupin. So either imagine they don't have any problems to deal with or pretend there's is an amazingly well written stanza in there for them)

And pronounce Louis as Lu - ee, not Lu - is - it throws of the rhyme otherwise. :D Enjoy and review please!

ghosts:

James's eyes are not green
his hair is not black
he looks nothing like
his father,
in fact
(dear Albus does -
but he wears silver and green
and somehow that's worse
in the great scheme of things)
little Lily's too shy,
too quiet,
too scared
(and her yellowblack robes
clash with the red of her hair)

Rosie is smart
but not smart enough
and young ravenclaw Hugo
knows far, far too much
(the blue and the black
in the robes
that they wear
looks awful unnatural next to Weasley-red hair)

Scorpius looks right
- with pale skin
and gray eyes
and with hair so blond
that it nearly looks white -
but his mouth is all wrong
in the way that it quirks:
how odd that it smiles
much more than it smirks
(he must have stolen
some poor other bloke's robes
- there's absolutely no green
to be found in the folds)

Freddie's too peaceful
Roxanne is too quiet
neither quite care
for parties
or riots
and both are too dark -
their skin and their hair
- how can Fred Weasley be Fred
with no red anywhere?
(and he'll cause quite the scandal
when he finally grows up -
how could he not
want his father's joke shop?)

and just as he should
young Lorcan dreams
from nargals to wrackspurts
and things in-between
but Lysander
his brother
he doesn't one bit
and well that is quite
strange, isn't it?

Vic's pretty much perfect
smart, kind and tall
(except that she doesn't
want it at all)
Dom's hair's not quite red
but it's too far from blonde
her ears are too pierced
her habits too wrong
Louis with his books
his dragons and his dreams
is covered by cousins
and forgotten, it seems
(he likes Luna's stories,
and thinks maybe they're true
- which is something that no
good Weasley should do)

now know: at some point
something's going to
b r e a k
going to splinter and crack
going to injure and ache
with the whole world watching,
they're going to fall
- going to stumble and slip
because of it all
(don't forget that they're
them
just as they are,
- not heroes and saviors
who won the great war
they're James, Fred, and Dom;
Vic and Roxanne
(pranks, jokes, and bets;
strict rules and firm plans)
they're Lily, Lysander
Lorcan, Hugo, Louis
(two hufflepuffs
and the ravenclaw three)
and they're Albus, Scorpius,
and fiery Rose

but they're all meant to be
someone else, I suppose)
