Rogue hated Danger Room sessions. Sure, she was athletic and agile, as things went, but her powers were practically useless, especially since no one would let her touch them, and she didn't really want to. It hurt her head, absorbing powers.

She took her time putting on her uniform, and was glad for it when Scott ran down a little late. She tried not to be too obvious about watching him as he threw his uniform on over his street clothes and traded out his glasses for his visor.

He finally noticed her and smiled, but there was nothing special about it, not like when he looked at Jean. Just good old Scott. "Better hurry up, Rogue. We're both already late, and you know how Logan gets."

She nodded. "You go on," she said. "I'm almost ready." She was actually all ready, but who would know? Scott wasn't Miss Perfect, who could read her mind and know she just wanted a chance to watch Scott's ass.

Rogue bet Jean watched Scott's ass all the time anyway, and she had seen Scott watching Jean. Stupid Miss Perfect. What did she have that Rogue didn't? Besides perfection, of course. She slammed the locker she was using closed and went into the Danger Room for the daily dose of torture – sorry, training.

When the entire group emerged an hour later, Rogue was sorer than she'd been in a long time. Logan had not appreciated her lateness - and in hindsight, mouthing off to him was probably not the best response.

"You okay, Rogue?"

She looked up, surprised. Scott was giving her a concerned look. If it hadn't been for Jean standing right behind him, she would have enjoyed the attention. "I'm fine," she lied. She didn't want to look like she couldn't handle being an X-Man. How would Scott like her then? Although... "You think you could show me how to do that flip of yours?" Time alone with Scott was worth looking a little stupid.

Scott didn't seem to realize that there was an ulterior motive for her wanting to learn. "Sure. And maybe we could spar a bit after. I haven't had much of a chance to practice with you yet."

Heaven. "Sounds great," Rogue said, a little too quickly. She just barely resisted giving Jean a smug look. "I'm gonna go work on my homework a bit. You wanna come practice our scene?" Anything to get a bit more time alone with him.

"Sorry, Rogue," he said. At least he actually did sound apologetic. "I promised Kurt I'd help him with chemistry."

"I could read his part for you," Jean volunteered with a friendly smile.

"No, it's alright," Rogue said. Doing a romantic scene with Jean? Not if she could avoid it! "We've still got a couple of weeks before we have to present it."

"Tomorrow," Scott promised. "Right after the Danger Room and our sparring."

Rogue smiled. "Sounds good." She'd prefer to have today and tomorrow, but she'd take what she could get. A few hours of uninterrupted time with him was certainly good enough. She watched him walk off with Jean, trying to block the redhead from her mind's eye and focus on Scott. She'd make him like her one day.
