Our Family

"Congratulations, kouhai!" Sharrkan yelled as he burst in to Masrur's house without knocking. Uninvited, if I may add.

"Thanks" the fanalis said, holding his newborn son. He had seen the recently crowned king of Heliohapt coming from the window, but hadn't gotten to the door in time "Do you need something?"

"I came to see your family; heard both of your wives have given birth!" Sharrkan explained, running over to Masrur to see the baby in his arms "Is this the first or the second one? Is it a boy or girl?"

"Second, boy" Masrur answered, knowing that the sooner he did the sooner he'd get rid of the other man.

"He looks just like you~" the king cooed, staring at the baby's red hair and eyes "We just have to hope he hasn't inherited your bad attitude, too."

"..." Masrur saw it wiser not to answer to that, not that he even had a chance as they heard crying from the next room.

"Oh" he muttered "She woke up."

With that he pushed his son in Sharrkan's hands; shocking the older man and making him freeze in his place.

"Wha-? Masrur!" the man paled considerably, looking down at the baby who was now looking at him in the way same way his father often did. However, it barely registered in Sharrkan's brain as he panicked, worried. What if the baby starts crying? What if he drops it or it gets hurt in some other way!? He wasn't used to babies, damn it! Masrur should've known that!

"She calmed down quickly as usual" Masrur commented as he came back carrying another baby, a girl this time.

"Masrur!" Sharrkan hissed "Don't just suddenly hand your kid to me!"

Masrur blinked, asking: "Why not?"

"Why- why not!?" Sharrkan stuttered "I'm not used to kids this small, you should know that! What if I dropped him? Fanalis or not a baby this small couldn't get out of it unharmed!"

"But that would only be if you dropped him" Masrur said "Which I knew you wouldn't."

"Huh?"

"I've trusted you with my life since that day on the Dark Continent's desert" the fanalis said "And I have no hesitation in trusting my family's life in your hands, either."

"Masrur..." Sharrkan was very moved by his usually so rude kouhai's words. Of course he knew of the man's soft side, but with him showing it so rarely it was easy to forget.

"After all, not too long ago Sinbad, you and the other generals were the only family I'd ever known" the red head said, letting a small, extremely rare smile surface on his face "And of course the children need to get to know their uncle Sharrkan."

Sharrkan smiled, teary eyed as he looked down at the baby he was holding. Uncle Sharrkan. That had a nice ring to it and made it him forget the fact that the younger man had married before him. He smiled wider as the baby reached his hand out towards him.

"Besides, this will be good practice for you."

"Hm?" Sharrkan muttered, not really even listening.

"For the time you and Yamuraiha have children of your own."

"WHAT!?" Sharrkan yelled, his head snapping up to look at Masrur "What the hell are you say- ow ow ow!"

The two men looked down at the baby boy who was holding Sharrkan's finger a bit too tightly, squeezing it with all of his power.

As Masrur went over to save his senpai from his two month old son, he was glad to know the boy already knew how to distract his uncle Sharrkan; that was a skill the child would definitely need in the future.

The faster his kids learned to deal with their crazy little family the better.

A.N: In case someone doesn't know: "kouhai" means a colleague or friend from school who is younger and "senpai" is the same but older. I used the Japanese words because I wasn't sure about how to translate them in English.
