Hey, this is Kyouki. I'm not dead yet and I'm back with a quick RWBY drabble. Enjoy!
Ruby sat at the edge of the roof swinging her legs and waiting for someone. She had finally picked up the courage to confess, albeit in the form of a note and an invitation to meet up. For the past month she had been leaving little notes in Weiss's locker, watching Weiss's responses whenever she received a note. She blushed remembering how as the month passed by Weiss became more and more eager to see what note her "mysterious" admirer had left her that day. Weiss had tried not to show it but in the end it became more and more apparent as her icy facade broke ever so slightly after reading those notes.
Behind Ruby, the doorknob turned and the door opened with a slight creak. Ruby tensed, doubts flooding through her head about if she really wanted to do this. But she had promised herself to go through it this time after her last few attempts had failed from uncertainty and doubts.
"Ruby?" Weiss called out confused, closing the door to the roof and walking over to where Ruby sat. She sat down by Ruby.
"Hey." Weiss was taken back slightly. This wasn't like the Ruby she knew, Ruby could be serious at times but never this serious. That was more of Blake or her area of expertise.
"So, um...what are you doing here?" Weiss cursed mentally, why was it that whenever she was only with Ruby her words would fail her and her speech was reduced to this?
"I...I was going to meet up with someone." Ruby cursed her stutter and her shyness had just prevented her yet again from telling Weiss her true feelings. Why was it that she could only tell Weiss how she felt through notes and never in spoken words?
"Oh. So was I. Did the person you were going to meet up with show up yet?" Silence sprung up as Ruby opened her mouth and nothing came out. She tried again but still nothing. Ruby gritted her teeth, she had been preparing for this for a month. There was no way in hell something as little as nerves would stop her.
Weiss watched her concerned at the conflicting emotions shown on Ruby's face. She checked the time, whoever was supposed to meet her should have been here by now….unless that person was already there….unless that person was Ruby.
Ruby mentally scowled, screw this! She was just going to say it. But Weiss beat her to the chase.
"You're the person who's been leaving notes in my locker, right?" At that moment all Ruby's troubles, worries, doubts about this rushed out of her mouth.
"Yesididn'tknowifyoulikedmeornotandididn'twantittobeawkwardandijustreallyreallylikeyou…" Ruby trailed off.
Weiss caught the last few words, "You like me." She said in a monotone. Ruby nodded. Weiss sat back trying to process everything. What did she feel about Ruby? Well she was a dunce...a dunce that grew on you. And despite trying, she couldn't imagine a single day without Ruby by her side. She didn't know if this was love or not considering how little experience she had in that field, but she had a feeling it might turn to love if she gave it a chance.
Ruby sighed, watching Weiss. "Forget that I said anything. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything." She got up and turned to leave, holding back tears.
Weiss scrambled up, grabbing Ruby's wrist as she turned, "Ruby, wait!" Ruby stopped and turned around as Weiss mashed her lips into Ruby's.
"Mmph!" Ruby's eyes widened in surprise as she relaxed into the kiss. The two pulled apart as Weiss raised an eyebrow.
"That answer enough for you?"
Ruby smiled, "Yes."
"Well, we're here right now, might as well enjoy the sunrise." The two sat back down, Weiss leaning against Ruby. Best. Choice. Ever.
