Kurogane furrowed his eyebrows, arms tightening across his chest in a futile attempt to keep out the cold. What had possessed him to send the students outdoors for P.E lessons today he didn't know, but judging from the abrupt arrival of winter, it would probably be the last time. For, even now a light drizzle of hailstones had begun, spreading out on the asphalt like tiny, lost pearls and ricocheting off the teacher's face as he turned his head towards the field. But lessons were almost over and, even though most of his class was already red-nosed and shivering, Kurogane saw no use in interrupting their assigned laps around the school exclusively due to the weather conditions.
"Hyuu, isn't Kuro-pon sensei being strict today?" The man flinched, shaken out of his thoughts and turned to face the glass he had been leaning against. Fai smiled and pushed the window open a little further, room enough for him to lean his arm out over the ledge, bathing Kurogane in a warm waft of air from within. "Don't you think you're being a little too hard on them?"
"Life is hard," Kurogane scoffed, obtaining an exaggerated eye roll from the science teacher. "If they ever want to get used to it, they'd better start learning now."
"My, my, aren't we cheerful?" Fai chortled, leaning as far out of the window as possible and poking the man in the cheek. This had the immediate desired effect as the larger man lashed out and forcefully grabbed the hand that was being withdrawn, causing Fai to almost topple straight out of the window before he could regain his posture. Kurogane fixed him with a threatening stare, eyes narrowing with annoyance and Fai gladly returned it with an excited giggle of being so readily violated. It wasn't everyday that his teasing had such a delightful reaction. "Careful, Kuro-waaaan, I'm sensitive," He wailed, twisting his wrist a little in its tight hold, pulling the man towards him through the window.
"You're an idiot," Kurogane growled, tugging once at the imprisoned arm until Fai was literally sprawled out of the window, his last balance held on tiptoe of one of his elegantly clean kept shoes. The classroom behind him was empty, yet the desk was crammed with test papers and other loose sheets, all attacked with glittery red pen while the blackboard had almost lost its original colour underneath the many freehand – and under no circumstances scientific- illustrations of cute puppy dogs, hearts and a long list of possible nicknames no doubt reserved the man outside. Kurogane suppressed a snicker.
"Chemistry, is it?" He said, raising an eyebrow at the man struggling below.
"…from my point of view."
Kurogane snorted, throwing another distasteful look at the blackboard. "Yeah… Right." He looked fleetingly over his shoulder, noticing with a small surge of relief that the kids had just disappeared from sight around the other side of the school building. "You're a damn lousy teacher, you know that?"
Fai pouted, grinning up at him. "But Kuro-chan sensei doesn't really mind that, does he?" As a reply, the taller pulled him up roughly before kissing him, leaving the other to fumble his hands towards his back and up into his damp hair, his feet sliding haphazardly on the slippery lab floor until Kurogane decided to take a step back and drag him forward, still locked in a kiss that should have lasted longer than it did. For after what seemed like only a split second, the gym teacher froze in action and, hearing the heavy footsteps of the students approaching around the corner, the final lap accomplished, hastily parted the kiss and pushed the science teacher back through the window. And as the first students rounded the corner and marched out into the soaked school field, Kurogane pulled the window shut, turning his back just in time to miss Fai collect himself from his fall, clasp his hands together and give a dazed, yet delighted twirl before returning to his desk.
