So this is my first fanfic. I hope you enjoy it. :)
He was standing there.
This wasn't odd, it wasn't that it was the first time he had ever been there. It was why he was there, why he was waiting for her, as he had done so many times before.
This time was different.
This time she wasn't the Cinderella, he wasn't the prince. Their fairytale romance was over, torn apart by the evils of everyday life: distance.
Once she had moved to California, and he decided to stay in Albuquerque, things changed. Just like she had dreaded.
They tried to make things work, but life pulled them in different directions. She had mourned, they had mourned, but the period of grief was now over.
She had moved on. She thought he had too. But she was proved wrong, the very thing she despised.
There he stood, flowers in his hand. Red roses, the kind she had loved ever since that first night he had given them to her.
"Gabriella," he spoke, taking a step forward, hoping and praying she wouldn't back up.
She was silent.
"Gabriella," he continued, taking the silence as a good thing. After all, she hadn't left yet.
"I know you're mad, but please hear me out. It's been a year since I've last seen you. During that year was the worst time I've ever had in my life. I miss you. Do me a favor? Tell me you miss me too."
She stood there, taking in his troubled blue eyes, the lights that made her world shine so much. She glanced at the hands, that once held her own and caressed her body so gently. The face, which used to light up whenever she was near now looked so hurt and torn. A lone tear slid down his face, causing him to stumble over his words.
"Please come back. I can't take it anymore. I need you."
As she stood there debating, her feet automatically moved forward, placing her directly in front of Troy.
She gazed up into those beautiful, sad eyes of his, and for the first time in a long time felt the deep connection between them. The feeling of being lost left her, and she felt happy again.
I wasn't that sure about the ending, I know it is very cheesy. Tell me what you think: review?
