Bass remains stotic as ever, completely unaffected by the agitated woman.

'I don't even know what to say,' a hand pushes dark curls away from her face, 'she deserves something sweet and classy you know..'

She sets down another strawberry in hopes of tempting some kind of response, 'come on buddy, help me out here!'

The silence drags on as he slowly takes a bite and she drops her head in defeat.

'You don't understand!'

She's up and pacing now, hands pulling at her hair in frustration, 'I'd say something stupid like yeah maura, my heart totally beats only for you and i cannot live without you, so you should totally be my wife!' she throws her hands up, 'see! could I be anymore lame? She deserves poetry or something.'

He continues to chew, ignoring her.

'Thaaanks for all the help buddy, you've been just swell!' grumbling as she picks up the ring she'd balanced on his shell, starting as she hears the faintest sniffle.

Turning around to see her standing there, in the doorway, tears running down flushed cheeks and a hand clasped over trembling lips, and there's this lump in her throat and a pressure behind her eyes.

'Please?' pushed out on a whisper, because it's been true since day one, and then her arms are full of the sobbing blonde and she's slipping the ring onto a shaking finger, 'please maura.'

'Yes,' trembling lips rest against her jaw, 'always.'

It's nothing fancy, there's no poetry or candle lit dinner, just the two of them and a turtle, and she can't imagine how it could be anymore perfect.
