A Frightening Vision

Raye watched him walk away, hating him for causing her pain. The fight was her fault, she knew it, but even so, he had no right to leave her.
"Where are you going?" she demanded, her voice stern, irate.
Her blonde-haired opponent glanced back at her and grunted. "What does it matter to you?" he said, his voice just as strong as hers.
Raye crossed her arms and turned away. "It doesn't."
"Fine," he said, and Raye could hear him open the door and close it behind him.
As soon as the door was shut, Raye collapsed to the soft carpet. Why had she acted that way? Why had she pushed him away when she loved him so much? She glanced at the door and considered going after him, but immediately pushed the thought from her mind. She would not go crawling back to him; her pride would not let her.
But she wanted to be with him. She hated that they were fighting.
Swallow your pride, a voice in the back of her head yelled. Go apologize and be with him, like you want. Do not expect him to come back to you.
But how could she? She hurt him...what if he would not take her back?
"Jedite," she mumbled through her tears.
Suddenly, Raye's heart stopped then sped up rapidly. Something was wrong, Raye could sense it. Something was wrong with...
"Jedite!" she shouted, flying to her feet. She ran straight for the door with every intention of running out into the night, searching for him, fighting for him, and, if necessary, dying for him.
She did not even grab a coat as she flung open the door, no longer concerned with herself. She could only think of him and of his safety.
Yet, as the wooden door parted, she saw him, standing right outside as if he never left.
"Jedite?!" she gasped in confusion. He seemed fine, other than the sad and concerned look on his face. Raye looked behind him quickly then searched him with her eyes for any wounds. "You are unharmed," she said, relief apparent in her voice.
"Yeah," he said, his voice shaky from shock. He obviously had not expected her to run out to him.
Raye flung her arms around him, pressing her tear-stained face into his chest. "I was so worried," she said. "I had a vision...I thought you were...that you were..."
"Raye," he said gently, wrapping his arms around her. "I'm fine. Nothing happened. I came out here in such a fuss, but then I couldn't leave. I just didn't want to."
"I'm glad," she said happily. "I am so glad."
Jedite began running a hand over and through her long black hair, soothing her.
"I'm so sorry, Jedite," she sniffled. "I never meant any of the things I said, not one. I just got so mad. I'm sorry. I love you so much."
"...Raye..." Jedite said slowly, genuinely surprised by her apology.
She glanced up at him with tears shining in her eyes. Was he going to reject her, to cast her away to the darkness?
"I love you," he finished, brushing a soft kiss over her lips.
Raye blinked once, twice, but then, smiled and kissed him back with all the love she felt.
When their passionate kiss was finally broken, Raye pulled back, asking, "But what about the vision I saw?"
Jedite shrugged. "I feel fine."
"But I was so scared..."
Serves you right, said the voice again.
Raye finally understood and hugged Jedite tightly. "I love you," she said, and she knew he was smiling. "Let's never fight again."
