It was a beautiful day today at Zootopia. After checking on my younger sister who has 'fallen down', I decided to go to a nearby park and relax for a bit. After all, my shift wouldn't start for another 4 hours so I had time to waste. I watched as people, both pred and prey alike walked by, minding their own business.
- Hey, Kyle! Long time no see! A familiar voice called out to me.
I looked over my shoulder and there was my old friend Nick Wilde. From the looks of it, he's a police officer these days.
- Nicky? I blurted back.
It definitely was him. Better groomed as well which I suppose is due to his new job. Regardless, he's still old Nicky at heart. I can feel it.
- Who else it would be? So, Kyle Bell, what have you been up to these days?
- Me? Same old stuff, ensuring mail arrives at the right address. And as for you, Nicky, it seems you have become quite a celebrity.
I could see Nicky shuckle at that statement.
-Yeah, me and 'Carrots' are quite a team, that much I can say.
By 'Carrots' I assume he mean't the city's very first rabbit cop, Judy Hopps. I managed to catch a glimpse of her during one of my shifts. Someone that small certainly would be useful for the police indeed.
- Something's bothering you? Nicky asked me, seeing a single tear fall off my face.
- Oh this? I am all alone. My sister has 'fallen down' and my cousin? He's okay but currently has a job as a teacher in a faraway place. Kemoto if I remember right.
- I know how that feels. During my youth, I was also alone, unwanted and unloved by everyone. I though that by turning to a life of crime, my life would finally have meaning. Still, It was great meeting you again. If you want, I can invite you over to dinner if you want.
- That would be wonderful. I wish to speak with you some more.
- I suppose tomorrow would be a good time then. And now, I must return to my duties. I will see you tomorrow. Nick said before walking towards his car, no doubt to resume his patrols.
