"Ronald Weasley, how dare you do this without consulting me!" Hermione's shrill voice broke through the blanket surrounding his head and Ron groaned softly in response.
"'mione, it's only eight in the mornin'," he mumbled sleepily, waving a hand at her.
"I don't care what time it is. I went downstairs, expecting to make breakfast, when what do I discover? Hugo has a new cat. And Rosie. Rosie has a dog! You know I hate dogs! Why would you do this to me?"
Sighing and counting his losses, Ron sat up and made his way across the room. "It's only a puppy, so it's a tiny dog, not even that scary at all. You should've seen them, I couldn't say no, it would've been impossible. They would've cried, and then I would've cried, then it just would've been a big mess. If they don't work out, we can just vanish them away and tell them they got eaten by a dragon or something."
Hermione's eyebrow rose and she stared at her husband. "You have got to be kidding me. No, no way. If the children fail to take care of the animals, you will be the one responsible for cleaning up after them."
"What?" His voice was a shocked sound, and he met her at the door. "No way, I don't know anything about Muggle pets!"
A smirk was on her lips as she leaned in, just close enough to touch his, though barely. Ron leaned in to kiss her properly, but she pulled back.
"I guess you'll have to learn the hard way then, won't you?" She teased, right before apparating to the kitchen.
Ron grumbled and turned around and shut the door. He'd punish her later, he mused.
