First Story: The Mistake

Chapter One

Excitement

The Weasley's offered Harry to spend the night at the burrow since, after all tomorrow was Ron and Hermione's wedding. Mrs. Weasley felt that Harry was always welcome and would be delighted if he stayed. Harry did not enjoy apparating very much so he replied with an urgent yes and continued to finish up a game of wizard chess with Ron. Obviously, Ron had won against Harry with in the first five minutes so Harry was getting bored playing their 7th game in a row.

"I think I'll just go play exploding snap with George and Ginny." Harry said.

Ron excitedly replied, "Oh. Can I play? I need to beat George one of these days."

"Sure it'll be fun."

Together Harry and Ron cleaned up their chess sets and walked up the winding steps to Ron's room, where Harry always slept when he stayed over.

Ron slipped his chess set into a loose floorboard in the corner of his shockingly orange Chudley Cannons themed bedroom and Harry stuffed his set under the spare bed.

"I wonder when supper will be ready." Ron said as the two walked back downstairs.

"Not long it's nearly quarter after 7." Harry replied looking down at his watch.

"Good I am starving!"

"Your always hungry," Harry smiled.

"I am aren't I?" Ron said looking puzzled.

Harry just nodded chuckling to himself. They walked into the living room with know one their except for Hermione, sitting in front of the fireplace.

"I'll just..." Harry said pointing into the kitchen where a strong scent of roast turkey could be smelled. He walked into the room to sit down next to Ginny at the dinner table.

Ron swallowed hard and nervously stumbled on a red throw rug, almost knocking down the rocking chair. "Err... hey Hermione. Why aren't you eating dinner?"

"Oh. Hi, Ron, I'm just a little nervous for the wedding tomorrow I guess. How about you? You're always the first person at the table." She smiled weakly.

"Yeah, me to I mean I'm err real nervous... I'm really excited but... I don't know." He sat down next to Hermione and hugged her waist. "By this time tomorrow we will be married and throwing cake in each others faces." She giggled a little but continued to look into the fire. Ron kissed her cheek and hugged her. "I will be at dinner. Okay? Just come when you get lonely."

"I love you." she said.

"I - I love you to." Ron grinned.

"Good just making sure." she added sniggering unnoticeably. Out of the corner of her eyes Hermione could see Ron blushing almost as red as his hair.

Ron carefully made sure that he was clear away from the chair when he walked back into the kitchen.

"Okay, George you have won 6 times, now can we please go to bed? My wedding is in nearly-"Ron said checking his watch,"12 hours! Oh my God!" Ron sprinted up the stairs to go to bed. Hermione had gone to sleep 3 hours ago. It was nearly 1:00 in the morning on April 15, 1999.

"Gosh he is paranoid!" George said. "He picked up a glass and poured fresh fire whisky into it."To loved ones!" he cried. "To loved one's!" they responded in unison.

Mr. Weasley's suddenly booming voice could be heard all above others. "Now, now it is time for everyone to go to bed! Ron and Hermione have set a wonderful example for us." Harry, Hermione, Ginny, George, Percy, Bill, Fleur, Charlie, Mr. Weasley, and Mrs. Weasley all sleepily climbed the steps to get some well deserved rest before the big day. Although they were all very excited the family had been having way to much fun not to feel tired.

Harry practically skipped up the stairs after that one glass of fire whisky, but when he hit the lumpy cot fell asleep instantly.
