Marinette smiled and breathed in the salty sea air. She was returning home from an overseas trip with some of her friends. Marinette turned to her best friend Alya. Marinette smiled and giggled as she noticed that Alya was obviously super close to being seasick. Marinette smiled as Rose walked over. "Hey Mari, the ocean is pretty smooth today. The merpeople must be in a good mood." Marinette tilted her head. "Merpeople?"
Alya walked up. "I'm sorry Rose but merpeople are just nonsense." Rose sighed but still smiled. "But it isn't nonsense Alya their real. Down they live in the depths of the ocean." Alya rolled her eyes.
Marinette smiled and looked down into the big blue sea. She loved the colour. Pink will always be her favorite but the ocean had such a beautiful mixture of blues and greens. 'I wonder if there are really merpeople.' She thought to herself.
Meanwhile, merpeople were gathering in the grand hall. The King and the designer Gabriel Agreste had arranged a grand fashion show for all the merpeople who wanted to attend. The King sat with his daughter Chloe, a yellow tailed mermaid, and her friend Sabrina, another mermaid. The music was warming up and the curtain opened. Chloe was anxious to see her 'Adrikins'.
A red tailed mermaid swam as fast as she could to her seat, gripping her clipboard so hard she thought it might snap. She fixed her glasses and tidied her black suit jacket before she sat down next to Gabriel. As the show started Nathalie prayed that Adrien was backstage. He tended to sneak out of rehearsals and she hoped that he remembered that the show was today. He had already left the house before she could remind him. The show was going well.
When it was Adrian's turn to be on stage, Nathalie braced herself for Gabriel's potential wrath. She shut her eyes and waited. The music stopped and she felt Gabriel rise from his seat. "Adrien!" She winced as she heard Gabriel yell out his sons' name.
