A/N: This is a poem I wrote in Principal McGee's Point of View as she reflects and thinks about her life being the Principal of Rydell High School, based on the movie. This started off as a school project for my school's production of Grease, and since I will be playing Principal McGee (Ms. Lynch), I just decided to reflect on her character and make this poem to develop it to make this little role something special on AND off stage.

As always, I own nothing. They all belong to paramount and their creators.

I am living in a living Rydell where students dwell,

a place where I never thought life would turn out so well.

Seven years ago, I never thought the authority would be my own...

I never thought Rydell was a place I would call my home.

The first time I saw the staff, students, and everyone else all around,

I knew that one day I'd face the challenges abound.

If ups, downs, fortunes and opportunities were like diamonds-crystal clear,

The moment Rydell and I met eyes, that's when I knew I'd find them here.

Cheerleaders, jocks, geeks, greasers; students of every kind...

just thinking about that seems to muddle my mind.

I often think of everyone as equal; on the same boat, under the same roof.

I just wish that we would keep Rydell afloat with no one turning out aloof.

A loyal staff, working day-in, day-out and night,

the employment and friendships we have been through is so much more than just a delight.

Blanche-my faithful secretary, grown to be my friend,

I know that we will be a prosperous team 'til the very end.

Rydell's cheerleaders and athletes-Rydell's joy and pride,

As wholehearted enthusiasts, their loyalty never hides.

If our league seems to be seeping through and sinking into deep, troubled waters,

"If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter."

The greasers-the gangs, the misfits who could let our school down,

As clear as crystal and in vain, they play Rydell like a clown.

For their own good, if I dare mention,

if they want a better future, I better send them to detention!

My Rydell life is nothing short of a roller coaster ride...

It isn't easy to keep my feelings for Rydell hidden deep inside.

All these "ups" and "downs" that I face in my Rydell life,

without a shadow of a doubt, they help me through my strife.

As for me, as principal of Rydell, in fact, no-nonsense and my head never stuck into a cloud,

In all truth I speak, of this beloved school, I am very proud.

No matter how the future turns out, I love Rydell.

I could never say there was anything better.

I am living in a living Rydell where students dwell,

In a place where I never thought my life would turn out so well.

Seven years ago, I never thought I'd find my place in the world on my own.

I never knew Rydell was a place I would one day call my home.
