Everything is so dark. Where am I? Jesus, this is just another day in my screwed-up life. I can imagine next time I see Ed again. He'd say "So, Gaia, what did you do yesterday?" And I'd reply "Oh, you know, the usual, I woke up not knowing where the hell I was, not knowing if I'd been kidnapped or if I was dead!" Hahaha. Except that will never happen, since Ed has obviously been hit on the head by something very hard and thinks he's in love with me. Love. What a joke. All of the people I've ever thought I loved either betrayed me or died. I hope I am dead, then I don't have to deal with all the jerks in this world anymore.

Loki leaned back in his chair. Somehow, Tom had done it. He had gotten to Gaia. Alienated her from him. Or maybe it was that stupid boy. The messenger boy who had valued Gaia so much. He'd taken a chance on that one. He of all people should know never to take chances. So he'd had to have Josh kill him. Just as he should have killed Tom so many years ago. In an unusual show of emotion, Loki slammed his fist into the table in front of him, causing the china to rattle. He had to calm down. Sure, Tom had gotten to her. Sure, Gaia knew by now that he, Oliver, was indeed Loki, murderer of her mother. But that didn't need to interfere with his plans. He had Gaia at the moment. He'd already taken a sample of her blood. His plans would go through. They always did.

Tom Moore stood at the entrance of the small brownstone on Perry Street, shaking with fear. He rang the doorbell and waited for his old friend to come to the door, gasping for breath from his run to come here. The door cracked open and Tom saw George Niven's slightly puffy-looking nose stick through the crack.
"Who's there?" Tom heard George's voice, sounding by far weaker and stuffier than usual.
"It's Tom," said Tom slowly, realizing that his voice was quivering with fear. He had to get a grip on himself. He couldn't always become this terrified every time he saw his own twin brother. It was silly. Of course, the idea of his own twin brother killing him wife and kidnapping his brother was pretty silly too.
"Tob! Cobe id!" George obviously was suffering from a bad cold. He grabbed a Kleenex and blew his nose. "How are you?"
"He has her." Tom said, feeling chills going up and down his spine as he said it. "He has Gaia."
George opened the door wider and Tom stepped inside. "How did this happen?" George croaked.
Tom shook his head. "I'm not sure." He looked into his old friend's eyes. They were slightly bloodshot from sickness, but still full of the curiosity Tom always saw in them. He decided to tell him. "Loki wants to clone her." Tom choked back tears. "And it looks like he's going to succeed."
