Silence. Not a sound. Throughout the whole N-G Productions building, there wasn't a sound. This was most likely because on this special, winter night, everyone was with their families. Eating ham, turkey, and other Christmas delights, and enjoying their new toys and gifts. Snuggling by the fire together, laughing over things that had once seemed embarrassing or stupid. Enjoying each other's company.
Everyone that is, except for Ryuichi Sakuma. Instead, he walked the halls of N-G, his sobs and footsteps echoing in unison. He was going nowhere in particular…as he had nowhere to go. He could go home, but in doing so he would have to admit to himself that he was lonely…not to mention he would have to pass dozens of people. Happy people, who were celebrating with their families.
Of course, he had received several invites. Tohma had invited him to spend the day with him and Mika, and to stay for dinner, but Mika had made it very clear that it was only a polite gesture, and that he was to turn them down. Shuichi had invited him for a sleepover, but Yuki had instantly rejected that idea. He had to be honest with himself, at least a little—and was, in thinking that no one truly wanted to be with him.
Not now, not for Christmas, not ever.
More tears fell from his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away. He opened the door to the room he was most comfortable in; Tohma's office. Sitting on the floor, he pulled the picture of Tohma's wedding day from his desk and held it close to him, imagining him in Mika's place. Oh, how he wished that he could be the one in that picture, marrying Tohma. Or, more so, he wished that it could be him snuggled by the fire with Tohma.
Of course, what he didn't know was that Tohma was not snuggling with his wife. In fact, he wasn't even home.
Tohma punched in his access code and slid through the doors of N-G, barely waiting for them to open. He ran to the elevator and climbed in, then punched in the number, panting. After waiting a short while, he pulled the doors open and slipped through them. Regaining speed, he sprinted down the hall until he came to his office door, which he threw open.
Ryuichi looked up, tears falling from his widened eyes. His cheeks reddened slightly as he noticed that Tohma was glinting in the moonlight, panting, with sweat dripping down his angelic face. The picture fell from his hands and he opened his mouth, unsure of what to say.
"Ryu…Chan…" Tohma whispered, collapsing beside Ryuichi. He wrapped his arms around the younger man, who was still in shock. "Please, forgive me…"
"W-What…? Tohma…what are you doing here? Where's Mika-San?"
"Forget Mika! Ryuichi, I… I left you all alone! I'm so sorry!"
Ryuichi stared at Tohma, his mouth open in shock. "Toh-Chan…you're…c-crying?"
Tohma shook his head, sobbing. "Don't worry, Ryu-Chan… I'm here now…"
Ryuichi moved to pull Tohma's head to his chest, but Tohma stopped him. Instead, he captured the singer's lips in a passionate kiss, his hands sliding beneath his shirt.
"T-Tohma-Chan! What are you—"
"This Christmas…" Tohma whispered, his breath hot on Ryuichi's neck, "I'm staying with you."
"But Mika-San—She…She'll kill us!" Ryuichi exclaimed, choking over his excitement.
"I don't care. Tonight, Ryu-Chan, you're mine…" He nipped the younger man's ear, grinning broadly, and wiped his tears away.
End
A/N: Sorry for the crappy ending. it's an old story!
