Couch Cuddling

"Move over, Spike. You're taking up too much room on the couch." Joyce said. Joyce, Spike, and Giles were enjoying a Passions marathon, but Spike was relaxing far too much on the couch, and had Giles and Joyce squished against one end.

"I just want to be comfortable." Spike was nursing a broken ankle from a fight with a particularly nasty fight with a demon the night before. Sure, he was a vampire and it would be perfectly healed in a few days, but it still hurt like a bitch now, and thus he was whiney.

Giles reached over and pulled Spike into his lap. After much complaining and protesting, everyone managed to get comfortable. Joyce watched as Giles wrapped his arms around Spike's waist, and Spike finally relaxed, leaning back into Giles's chest. She knew that they had been together for a while, but she was still getting used to it. When she thought about it, though, it sort of made sense. Spike reminded her of the Ripper that she had met on the night of the Band Candy incident, full of swagger and pride. She thought that maybe Spike reminded Giles of himself as well.

She smiled and turned back toward the television. Just then, Buffy walked into the house. "Hey Mom, I was just coming by to do some laundry. I was thinking that maybe we could cook dinner…" Her voice trailed off when she saw Giles and Spike cuddling on the couch. "Oh yuck, there go the love birds again. Never mind about the dinner, I think I just lost my appetite." She stuck her finger down her throat and made a fake gagging noise, then giggled and ran off, presumably to the laundry room.

Spike stuck his tongue out after Buffy ran out of the room. "She's just jealous. Her old Ken Doll can't live up to you." Giles just laughed and kissed Spike on the forehead. Joyce could only shake her head. She just hoped that she would be lucky enough to find a relationship like Giles and Spike had found with each other.
