Something's Fishy

I was fishing at a river bank,

Wanted pokémon to catch.

Bait at my side with poké ball,

A complimentary match.

My line gave a little twitch,

And eyes, I slowly opened.

Went to reel in my line,

Hoped it won't be broken.

On and on I reeled in,

And for poke ball I reach.

Another pokédex entry,

More wonders it can teach.

And my catch, it showed itself,

And I let out woeful groan.

A magikarp, those bloody fish,

Couldn't leave me alone.

But this one was different,

It made a heavy splash.

My clothes were left all soaking,

Bait and balls fell with a crash.

But of those balls that did fall in,

One hit the magikarp.

My pokédex, it hummed and beeped,

Oh yes, this was a lark.

So another pokémon I caught,

And there was one small inquiry.

Should I smoke or roast this fish,

When I ate my morning tea?
