If it hurts this much, then it must be love.

He never wanted this day to come. Sure, the young exorcist loved his brother very much and he's willing to give up anything for him. But this was just too much.

The first girl he had ever fallen in love with slipped from his grasp. He chuckled lightly when he actually thought he had a chance. The chuckle came to a stop when his older twin brother came into mind. Oh, little did Rin know about everything. Rin doesn't know his brother at all.

Just recently, Yukio had told Shiemi about how he felt about her. It turned Shiemi into a blushing and stuttering mess, and Yukio on the other hand, was downright nervous. Nervous enough that both his palms started to sweat. The boy just awkwardly placed his hand on Shiemi's shoulder, attempting to calm her down as she continued with her state.

Moments later, the blonde took deep breaths as she shyly looked up at Yukio. As soon as her gaze met Yukio's, she quickly looked away, causing the other to shoot an eyebrow up in confusion.

"Y-Yuki-chan.. I'm sorry.."

His expression shifted from confused to utterly clueless.

"B-but.. Okumura-k- Rin.. Rin and I.. are.."

Yukio felt his heart drop. He was paralyzed. When he wanted to say something, it was as if his whole body was stopping him from doing so. He gulped before relaxing a little.

"I see.. no need to be sorry, Shiemi-san." He smiled softly down at her. Yukio tried to assure her that nothing's wrong, but in reality the pain grew more evident as he continued his act.

Right when the girl was about to say something, Yukio had already excused himself and turned to leave, leaving a worried Shiemi behind. As his back was turned, the pleasant expression he wore melted into an blank, emotionless one. It hurts. It really fucking hurts. Yukio had felt this way about Shiemi for about 2 years now and he had been urging himself to tell her since then, but to his dismay he never had the courage to. Rin had only met her a year go. It happened really fast in Yukio's opinion and it wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all. He knew it from the way Shiemi looked at him. She had to feel the same way about him, he thought. But for some odd reason, the truth was the opposite of that.

And now here he was, watching his brother's sleeping form. The steady rise and fall of Rin's chest indicated that he was indeed in deep sleep. Yukio sighed quietly, turning to the other side, making him face the wall. By tomorrow morning, Yukio has to act like nothing happened. He has to act like he doesn't know about their relationship. He has to act like it wasn't slowly killing him inside.

After all, Rin was his dear brother, and he loved Shiemi very much. He has to be happy for them.

..Right?
