A Day in The Life Of Shinichi Okazaki
Shin is walking down a busy highway, thinking. His cell phone starts to ring. It's a regular, looking for another night. Nobuo can comment all he wants about his job, but it pays the bills so what does he care? He waves down a cab just as the cell rings again; telling him the regular room was taken. One of his policies says that they have to find a place to go, that's not his responsibility. He did that out of pure laziness, who wants to deal with all thoughts hotels anyway? Not him. He lights a cigarette with his necklace.
"Nice lighter." The cabbie says
"Ya, thanks, Atlas hotel." He's glad he got the necklace back from Reira, would'a sucked if he didn't.
"We're here." He pays the cabbie, as shin pulls out his wad of cash he see's the realization on the cabbie's face.
"Ya that's what I'm here for, but that's not your business is it? Just drive me here and stop gawking!" he wanted to yell at the man, but what good would it do? The driver looks at Shin's face like he should have known all along. Shin's been told he has the face for his line of work. He makes his way to the hotel room. "Pay in advance." He says at the door, but she already knew that. She pays. After getting the money he closes the door behind him.
"So how'd it go?" Nobuo asks, teasingly.
"I got paid." Shin replies, indifferently.
"So it went well?"
"As well as it can go."
"You didn't get arrested? Good for you." More jokes, but shin's use to it.
"I'm going to bed." Shin says with a yawn
"Whatever." Shin walks to his room and goes to bed.
