Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories/II, Naminé-centric &, sometimes, she feels like a murderer

The order came the other day.
Erase his memories.
And that's what Naminé did.
She erased him—his memories, his dream, him—and as she sketches in her cage, she feels like a murderer.
(But there is not blood on her hands.)
Outside the four walls of Castle Oblivion, Kingdom Hearts pulses high up in the sky.
It's getting bigger and bigger with each passing day—each passing second.
Naminé watches it grow trough her window—she's afraid that, soon, it will burst from the strain—and she hopes the Sora will wake soon; that she is strong enough to piece him back together.
She hopes that Roxas didn't really disappear (like she said) because she misses him and that would make her a liar.
She misses him—Sora, Roxas.
She misses her heart pulsing beneath her breastbone.
She misses when this kind of hurt—this loneliness, this guilt—didn't eat her up from the inside until she wishes that the world would just stop.
(And the second it does, she feels so alone.)
Sora wakes.
There is no longer any need for her.

Author's Note: I adore Naminé so much. Really, I truly do. She's possibly my favorite character to work with because she's the easiest to write, apparently.
I've written about six fics that have her in them already, and there looks to me that there will be more as she seems like a very Cure type of girl. (Okay, not really but The Cure is inspiring, no?)
Updates will be slower due to a horrible case of Real Life. – pixie paramount (11/7/2007, 11:45)
