He was never one to snuggle. It wasn't that he didn't like the comfort of another persons' warmth; it was more that he never knew what it would mean. With Carol however snuggling was never a problem. It was almost natural for them to end up asleep in each others arms. It had become a ritual for them to work a case over some good wine and bad food, and end up falling asleep together either on the floor or couch; with only a few hours passing that they wake and crawl into bed together. Without realising in their patterns changed from falling asleep on the floor to consciously taking themselves to bed, him on the right side, her on the left, with Nelson curled over their feet. It was as if they had been sleeping together for years. While there had never been anything more than the casual caress and unconscious grope, Tony felt as if this was the closest thing to a real relationship that he had ever experienced. Tonight would be no different, the wine had been drunk, the case had been explored, and they had found themselves tucked tightly together in his bed. It was in moments like these that Tony realised that it was in her arms, and in her bed that he was meant to be.
