A/N: In an effort to take a break and get more comfortable with writing in the present tense, I came up with this little comedic oneshot.
Please enjoy and check out the rest of my Fanfics as well!
"It's not easy being Kei Kurono…"
This has got to be one of the worst situations to be in - the worst by far. Kurono is sitting at a table. Across from him is Tae. To her left is Reika. Reika is crying and Tae is frowning. Kurono looks at Tae and then at Reika. He doesn't know what to say. He wants to speak, but no words come forth.
He looks to his left, and at himself – yes, himself. The man sitting beside him looks exactly like him. Even his expression is a carbon copy; it is just as shell-shocked as his. "Feel free to chip in at any time."
"What?" The Kurono sitting beside him shakes his head. "What do you want me to say?"
"Anything!"
"Okay," Kurono points at his twin. " If you're me and I am you – "he pauses and gestures back to his self. "You should know what I would say in a situation such as this."
Kurono frowns, "Am I really always this annoying and uncooperative?" he asks.
The other Kurono scratches his head sheepishly, shrugging afterward. "I really don't think it's all that bad really."
Tae stands, shaking her head. "I refuse to allow this Kei-chan!" Tears are beginning to build up in her eyes.
"See what you did!" Both Kei Kuronos shout, pointing an accusing finger at one another.
"This is all your fault!" One shouts.
The other Kurono grabs the other by the shirt. "My fault! You're the one who made her cry!"
"Hey, that hurts!"
"Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah!"
"Why I ought to—"
"Stop fighting you two!" Reika stands and cries out. She steps in between the quarreling twins and pulls them apart. "We don't have to fight, please!"
Tae stands and pushes Reika away from them. "Don't you touch Kei-chan." She shouts, tugging both of their sleeves. "Haven't you done enough to him already?"
Reika recoils from the shove, and frowns back at Tae. "You, you greedy little midget! You can't keep them both to yourself!"
The Korunos simultaneously look at Tae's hands tugging each of their sleeves. They look back at each other and frown. The game of Tug-a-War commences.
"Mine!"
"Mine!"
A waiter in the restaurant sighs, and looks across the room. Other people are beginning to stare. He's also not sure if he should ask again if the quarreling teens sitting at table four are ready to order.
What to do, what to do…
One things for certain, it's not easy being Kei Kurono!
