You know you could do it if you wanted to. You just don't want to. After all this time underground you have been aching to see the sun and feel the fresh air, but not enough to kill someone, especially not the king so many of your friends beloved. After Alphys had told you what you need to do to cross through the barrier you paused. You had gone out of your way to avoid hurting anyone, even when they tried to hurt you, for it to end like this just seemed so wrong. Maybe there was another way? You needed time to think. You needed a place to stay while you slept on it.

And that's why you were back in Snowdin, sitting on the hotel bed in the Snowed Inn, trying to get some sleep. You saw quite a few familiar faces on your way over. Like Undyne and Papyrus wrestling in the snow, Greater dog jumped out of his armor to greet you when you passed Grillby's. That monster kid hopped up and down excitedly when he saw you, probably trying to compensate for the fact that he couldn't actually wave. Sans however was nowhere to be seen. With the others you always knew where to find them, but Sans was always moving around, which is ironic given how lazy he is. You haven't seen him since you talked in the MTT hotel restaurant.

Did he really think you should just take what you were given? What would life be like if you just decided to stay down here?

`Days waking up in the early morning and immediately being whisked off by papyrus to build puzzles and wait for someone to come by and solve them, get bored of waiting and start playing in the snow, making snowmen, playing on the golf course, feeding spaghetti the little mouse.

Then when you are chilled to the core go inside to warm up by the fire set by Undyne's aggressive cooking as she attempts making lunch by stabbing the oven with her spears. In the end you go over to Hotland for some of Muffet's donuts and spidercider since the kitchen would then be in no condition for cooking after the oven broke.

While you're there you could visit Alphys and watch that anime she told you about, or Mettaton hosting in his new body. Then after a long walk through waterfall's wishing room to look at the shining stones you stop by Grillby's and find Sans picking up dinner.

While waiting for your fries you pick up a bunch of ketchup packets and squeeze them into a cup of hot water in an attempt to create the ketchup soup you saw in a movie about a homeless man surviving in the city. After adding the salt and pepper you show it to Sans and he downs the entire thing in one gulp and says you are quite the chef.

That would be nice.

But would it be realistic?

Where would you stay? Hotels get expensive. Toriel said not to return to the ruins, and after Undyne's house caught fire Sans and Papyrus's house had been rather crowded. And all of the monsters want to escape the underground. No sun, no stars, no fresh air and there are limited resources, and crowding. Onionsan barely has enough water to cover his head. Maybe you would be just one more person to worry about in a world that can't handle it.

You don't know what you are going to do.
