A/N: HI EVERYONE! I know it's been a supper long time! For all of those who remember me, I'm baaaack! I need to update my profile and such, but it will all be done soon. The inspiration for this story just hit me. I know it's really corny and short, but I'm hoping you'll like my sense of humor with this one. I seem to do humor best anyway. I am working on a few other things, so keep an eye out for any other updates. This is the first time I've written fanfiction in a VERY, VERY long time so I'd really like some feedback on this one. Oh, and I obviously don't own the series, yadda yadda yadda, I'd just like to. HAVE FUN!

Her Addiction

By Miss Megaboo

Relena was addicted, it was true. If you were to ask any of the girl's close friends, they would all shout confirmations at you of some kind. Cheerfully, shamefully, too shocked for words. The list went on and on. How everyone found out about it though, she would never know. Maybe she was just easy to read or perhaps someone had caught a mysterious scent on her once that didn't quite belong to such a young woman, no matter her stressful position. However, she had never once told anyone about the one thing that made her get up in the morning and survive the day until she could find the comfort of her own home again. There she would dive headlong into her addiction once again. She would admit it to herself, yes. That was an easy task to do. In her own mind, no one could judge her. No one could tell her what she was doing was bad for her health and that there were much better things out there just waiting for her. Relena never did tend to listen to talk like that, though. Once stuck on something, she generally kept her decision. It also helped that her addiction never did anything but silently whisper to her "just one more won't hurt."

"Relena," her brother once told her when it all first started, "I'm not going to keep tolerating this kind of behavior from you. People are starting to talk. You don't want to ruin your position with the people."

"Milliaro's right, Relena…You should take your brother's advice. You should take better care of the body we're all trying to protect," Noin told her a while after that, when her brother's concern had obviously not affected his sister in the slightest.

"That's such a dirty habit to kick, Miss Relena. So unbecoming of a young lady like yourself when it comes to this degree," Dorothy had said simply.

"Hey, I'm not tellin' ya how to live your life, Princess, but…"Duo could never finish his sentences when he tried to confront her about it. He'd just shrug after that and walk away, as if she were no hope.

"Relena…Hn," is all Heero would ever say.

It went on like that for weeks. Each person close to her trying to stop it. One by one they would go to her, seek her personal attention, telling her to quit. And eventually, tired of everyone around her badgering her, Relena did try to quit. She really did. Then there would be times where she was alone in the break room with absolutely no one around. One little nip wouldn't hurt, would it? After that, though, she tried again. Relena just couldn't take the stares, the horrible nightmares even Heero couldn't seem to sooth, and the constant afternoon "breaks" were constantly interfering with her concentration at meetings with other delegates of the ESUN and the colonies. Yes, she would quit…Until…

"Fall of the wagon again, Relena?" Heero smiled at her, walking into the kitchen one morning.

"You're the one that got me hooked, Heero," she said, raising the coffee cup to her mouth, a small smile playing on her lips. "I'll just blame you."

"Fair enough," he nodded, pouring the rest of the pot into his travel mug.
