Lily was just lying there in their big red chair that was at her and James house in Godric's Hollow. She was just sat there playing with her wedding rings thinking on how best to tell her husband news that she knew would affect him greatly. They had both been married for about a year now and couldn't be more happy, well that was true to a certain extent. They both wanted to have children, and lots of them, but with a war that was getting harder to fight each day had meant that they both put aside their dreams of having a family filled with children that had both her and James qualities and features.

James being an Auror and also working for the Order of the Phoenix put him right on the front line of the war and also behind darkness of the enemy's lines, and it made Lily sick with worry and fear that one day he might not come through that door with that smile that was only marked his face whenever he saw Lily.

Lily being a healer for St Mungos also put her in danger, well James thought so. He hated that she also worked for the Order of the Phoenix but then he didn't even like her going out the front door in fear that she'll be lost and gone from him and that terrified him to the very core. After wanting Lily from nearly at the start of being at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it was only in their seventh year did Lily finally fall for the guy in the glasses with the smirk that broke ever girls heart at Hogwarts.

Tick tock, tick tock. The time was getting nearer to when her James would walk through the door and into her arms but the moment that thought went in to her, panic hit her and harder than Whomping Willow on the Hogwarts school grounds. Panic that what she had to tell James would hurt him, anger him maybe even break him. Before she could compose herself did she hear his familiar foot steps up there pathway but she still grabbed her want, these were very dark times.

"Who's there?" Lily spoke with a tremble in voice that she hoped that James hadn't picked up on for the fear of making it worse for what she had to say.

"It's me Lily, James Potter your husband and arrogant bullying toe-rag when we were at Hogwarts. Now please let me in." James said with a soft tiring voice. Lily let him in knowing that it was him from what he had said. James took off his cloak and wrapped his arms around Lily but he noticed (or sensed) something was wrong. "Lily is everything alright? Is something wrong?" his voice pleading.

"James I think you should sit down when I tell you this, ok?" Lily didn't wait for a response, she just took his hand and led him to their sofa that sat opposite their fire. She took a couple of deep breaths, before James could ask anything di she open her mouth thinking it was best to get everything out at once and not let James say anything as she didn't want to break down or stop from saying what she needed to get out and tell him. "J-James I know we said that we wouldn't have children because of the war that is raging around us but today I found out something when I went for a check-up just before I started my sift, a-and they t-t-told me that th-there is a very small chance at us ever having c-children but we can try but it's likely that we won't be able to have t-them," Lily didn't even shed tears after what she just spoke but James noticed something worse in the way she looked, she looked numb and cold like she had just been attacked by a Dementor and her soul had been sucked out…
