Princess

"Nervous?" Iruka asked gently.

"Yes," Kakashi muttered, knowing it would be useless to lie. Iruka reassuringly squeezed his hand.

Kakashi and Iruka, married three years, were walking through the maternity ward in the hospital to the room their surrogate mother, Segumi, was in. They were going to meet their son/daughter for the first time and name them.

"Hatake-san?" a nurse asked with a smile and they nodded. "Go on it."

Iruka took the lead, walking inside while pulling Kakashi in. Segumi was holding a pink fleece bundle. Kakashi froze in the doorway while Iruka quickly walked over with a smile, the brunette beamed at the baby.

"She's beautiful Segumi-chan," Iruka said, kissing the woman's temple. "Thank you so much."

"No problem," Segumi said tiredly. "You coming or what Kakashi-san?"

Kakashi jumped before slowly walking over, hiding himself slightly behind his husband. Kakashi peered down and froze again. Big blue eyes with silver eyelashes blinked open before finding a single onyx eye. The baby cooed, holding out her tiny hand. Kakashi hesitated before giving her his finger; when he did she began to nibble on it, babbling happily. Kakashi blinked back tears as he smiled.

"Name her Sarah," he told the nurse in the room.

His Princess.
