A/N: Wow, it's been a while since I've uploaded anything to here but I had this sudden burst of inspiration whilst I was listening to a few of Best Coast's songs and decided to write this one-shot. It's nothing much, and it's a little sad but I really enjoyed writing it and I forgot just how much I love writing. Hopefully I'll be able to post more now…
Disclaimer: Unless I'm a middle aged man named Daniel Schneider, I don't own iCarly. I am in fact, an average thirteen-year-old girl named Elssie. Smh.
"Sorry…" She said, breaking the uncomfortable silence that had formed as his and her lips broke apart.
"…S'cool," He replied nervously.
No. That isn't what she wanted him to say. She wanted him to tell her that he loved her. That he had for so long. That he wasn't in love with Carly anymore. That he wanted to be with her forever. That he liked their kiss. Their kisses. That he wanted to do it again. Just like she did.
But those weren't the words that left his mouth. No words of reassurance. Just more words to make her doubt her actions and to make her regret what she'd just done.
She searched his face once more, his body was still frozen, his mouth still slightly hung open in a mixture of confusion and shock.
"I… I'm just going to go now," She spoke, her voice monotone.
She didn't look back when she heard her name being called, or when she felt his hand touch her shoulder in an attempt to convince her to stay. She shrugged off the hand that sent shivers through her body, and she continued forward – leaving the only boy she'd ever loved, standing alone in the small courtyard.
She ran- sprinted to the school's front doors only to find them locked.
After a few minutes of rattling at the door handles, tears threatening to fall she stopped abruptly.
After a second or two the first silent tear fell down her face. She turned around so that her back was pressed against the door and slid down to the floor as another tear fell down her face.
And another.
And another.
Until there was a small waterfall making it's way from her crystal eyes. Her face remained emotionless as she searched her mind for ways to forget about the nub. She'd already tried hurting him. Heck, she'd been using that method to get him off her mind since she was 13.
The only other conclusion she could come to in order to forget about what happened previously was to avoid it as much as possible. Won't allow herself to speak of it or even acknowledge the feelings anymore. She'd done as Carly had said and had taken a chance. It had done her no favours so she might as well just build her walls back up again.
But this time they needed to be stronger.
This time they needed to be unbreakable.
"I'm going insane." She concluded, wrapping her arms around her knees, still sat on the floor of the empty hallway.
"I've lost my mind…" She whispered, shaking her head - a weak smile playing on her lips.
So there we have it, after a long time of no fics we have this! I also have an iLost My Mind one-shot that I might upload, but I wrote it out on my Blackberry so I'd have to re-type it and I'm faaaar too lazy for that.
But hey, if I get enough reviews I will!
