A Hundred Years

A Hundred Years

"I'm fifteen for a moment, caught in between ten and twenty, and I'm just dreaming, counting the ways to where you are."-A Hundred Years, Five for Fighting.

"Happy birthday, Leah!" Sam says as he walks into Leah's house. It is Leah's fifteenth birthday, and she told everyone she didn't want presents. She just wanted Sam. It has also been one year since Sam and Leah started dating.

Sam begins kissing Leah, and in between kisses, Leah whispers, "Happy anniversary Sam."

He responds with "Mmm…" and continues kissing her.

Neither of them knew that in three years, Sam would never love Leah again.

"I'm twenty two for a moment, she feels better than ever, and we're on fire, making our way back from Mars."-A Hundred Years, Five for Fighting.

Sam is the last thing on Leah's mind now. Jacob is her only thought. As he leans her down on to her bed without breaking their kiss, Leah knows that Jacob, not Sam, is everything. Everything she could have ever wanted and more. Jacob's hands, his face, his body, are made for Leah. Jacob promises never to leave her, and Leah doesn't care that Sam made that promise to her more times than she can count, and then broke it. She knows Jacob, maybe better than she knows herself. His promises are different. This is the first of Leah's birthdays that she hasn't spent morning over Sam, and Leah likes it. She often scolds herself for not opening her eye during her dark time to see the person who could help her, Jacob, but she isn't scolding herself tonight. Tonight is her heaven. Leah never wants to return to Earth.
