"Y/N, May I kiss you?"
The question scared me. Not because the thought was unpleasant but because it was so sudden. Also we were standing in the library with my brothers prepping for a hunt.
I was scared because his eyes were so earnest and his expression was focused, intense. He tilted his head and looked directly at my lips. I couldn't help the reactionary impulse to lick them.
I was scared because he didn't seem to notice or care that my brothers were glaring daggers at him. He looked either oblivious or unphased by the looming danger his question had placed him in.
I was scared because when his gaze returned to my eyes I thought I might drown in their ocean depths. When did he get so close I wondered, just as Dean grabbed the angel by the collar pulling him away from me.
"Cas, when I said if you need anything just ask this is not what I had in mind."
"What did you have in mind, Dean?"
"I don't know a fucking sandwich, something besides a suit to wear, directions to the nearest bar anyone but my damn sister!"
I walked up to the angel and took him by the hand. I lead him down the hall to my room.
Dean started to follow but Sam intervened.
"Y/N, you better not be about to do what I think your about to do," Dean yelled trying to muscle past Sam.
I closed the door and turned to find Castiel far too close already. "Yes," I breathe.
Slowly the angel moved closer. I closed my eyes and held my breath in anticipation. Then all at once I was terrified as he pressed his lips to my cheek. I opened my eyes as he pulled away. My stomach sank and I felt humiliated and embarrassed.
The angel smiled softly at me then titled his head in confusion. Quickly, I composed myself.
"Was that incorrect?"
What could I say? After all he did ask if he could kiss me.
