A very young Lexa was playing outside TonDC with the other Treekru-children whilst her parents were hunting. She was running around and didn't notice she was getting a bit far away from the other kids.

The little brunette didn't mind being away from the others. She liked discovering the woods around the village, even though she wasn't really aloud too.

A smirk made it's way onto the child's face. If they didn't know, they couldn't prevent it from happening, right? She thought to herself.

As quietly as she could, she snuck farther into the woods. She saw an animal and wanted to hunt it like she'd heard the adults did. She hid behind a tree and took out her wooden training sword. She quietly crept closer to the animal, but didn't see the twig that snapped under her little foot.

The animal, having heard the sound looked up in her direction and ran away. Lexa cursed and ran after it. She was the quickest child in her village, but she couldn't really keep up with the animal yet.

She wasn't paying attention to her surroundings and ran deeper and deeper into the forrest. She eventually stopped running and looked around.

Fear filled the little girl as she realised she had no idea how to get back to her village. Tears filled her eyes, but she kept her head up high and kept them at bay.

For as long as she could remember she had been thought that she shouldn't show weakness. It wasn't because she was lost and alone that she'd let her weakness show.

It was starting to get dark and she was still walking around lost. She was trying to find a safe place to spend the night. She hadn't been thought how to know if a place was truly safe to sleep.

As the darkness took over, it was starting to get colder too, making Lexa shiver. A noise in the distance frightened the young girl. She ran in the opposite direction, but not being able to see well she stumbled and fell.

The fall caused her to scrape her knee. Thick drops of black blood dribbled down her leg as she stood, gripping her training sword as tightly as she could in front of her.

Suddenly a figure appeared out of the shadows. It was Gustus. A friend of Lexa's parents and another Treekru. He approached her and kneeled in front of her.

"Lexa! We have been looking for you for a long time." The large man told her in Trigedasleng. The girl looked down at her feet, scared and embarrassed.

"Are you hurt?" He asked her, sighing. She shrugged, knowing that her people didn't like to show weakness.

"Are you injured?" He rephrased and that made Lexa point to her knee.

Gustus's eyes widened. "Nightblood!" He exclaimed. He picked up the tired girl and carried her back to TonDC.

Once they got there he spoke with her parents. They agreed that he should bring her to Polis.

The scared young girl didn't understand why they wanted to send her to the Capitol. Had she done something that bad that they were sending her away?

Unfortunately all the running around that day had caused her to be exhausted and before she could even think anything else she passed out.
