If Tomorrow Never Comes

It all started as Ash, Brock and Misty were jogging along the road heading out of Seafoam Island.
A large gust of exhaust gas from a nearby car blew violently into Ash's face, as he staggered onto the road, not knowing where he was going.
'Ash! LOOK OUT!'
Ash was struck by an oncoming car. He went flying over the roof of the car, his limp body laying on the road behind the vehicle.
'ASH!!!!!!'

An ambulance was on the scene immediately. Ash was immediately taken to hospital and placed in the intensive care unit. There was no point.

Ash came out of the operating room a few hours later. His injuries were horrendous. Misty started to cry.

Ash finally woke up a few days later, in extreme pain.
'Ash, you're awake.' Misty said sincerely.
She embraced his whole body gleefully.
'Misty, there's something you should know.' Ash whispered.
'Huh? What is it?' she asked.
'Misty... I don't want to die. I don't want to think of how your life would be without me here for you. I want to be with you forever, but I can't. I just want you to know that I love you. I always will. Promise that you'll never forget me.' he said.
'I love you too Ash. I don't want to lose you.' she said.
Ash pulled Misty a little closer to him, as he kissed her soft lips tenderly and with increasing passion after every second. They parted their lips a minute later. Just as it all happened.
The heart monitor flatlined.
Quite a few doctors came running in with a heart static machine. There was no use. He was dead.
'I'll always love you Ash. I promise.' she whispered to herself.

Misty walked out into the waiting room, where Brock, Tracey, Delia and Prof. Oak were sitting.
'He's dead.' Misty said.

'I love you Ash. Why did you have to die? Why did you have to leave me all alone? Why? I want to know...'
She knew she wasn't going to get a reply.
Misty placed a large bouquet of flowers on Ash's grave.
The headstone was marked:
Ash Ketchum
Born 1987, Died 2006, Aged 18.
You will be missed by all who met you.
You really are a master.

Misty started walking away from the cemetery, hoping she could meet her one true love, someday.
'You're my master, Ash. I'll never forget you.' she said, as she walked towards the ocean.
